Interesting Read - 5 surprising reasons men are happy in a relationship

Five surprising reasons men are happy in a relationship
by Bonnie Yuill

Don't be fooled by the male ego. Men look for more in a relationship than an attractive women who will cook him a good meal and wash his clothes every once in a while. What he really needs is your admiration.

He needs to communicate with you
A lot of men need to be in a relationship more than women do. Surprising? Not really, when you think about it. Women usually have close relationships with their friends. They talk about health problems until they feel better. But men don't. As Helen Fielding's character, Bridget Jones, says, 'Women have emotions and men have football.' Men are competitive and so, in general, they rarely share their emotions or problems with each other, as they think it makes them look too weak. When he needs to open up and talk about his feelings, guess who he eventually shows his vulnerable side to? You!

He wants to be your hero
Knowing that he can make someone else happy makes him feel good inside, because he has the power to change things. And what bloke doesn't secretly want power of some sort? At least if he can't always be top dog at work, he can be a star at home. Instinctively, he aspires to be Spider-Man or Superman – to be your hero, to be able to make things right: to be appreciated, to be someone's knight in shining armour. So when you are disappointed or unhappy, he feels responsible. What matters is that you are happy and then he's got one less thing to worry about. Strange but true.

He strives to make you happy
The number one reason men leave relationships is because they feel as though they can't meet their partner's needs. This makes them feel inadequate, and it makes them feel as though there's no way their partner can feel respect for them. For women, communication seems to be the top priority in keeping the relationship going – but, quite honestly, men don't understand this constant need to talk about things over and over.

For men, the relationship is a success if they feel respected and if they make their partner happy. This is why a new conquest is exactly that – he feels as though he is in charge – he is once again someone's knight in shining armour.

If you resent him because you feel overworked and under-appreciated, stop doing so much – you are probably destroying your relationship! He doesn't want to feel responsible for you rushing around, worn into the carpet, and most men really don't notice whether the housework has been done or not. What they want is respect and appreciation. 'All we really want from women,' a (male) friend recently told me, 'is for you to smile at us.' (And probably one other thing, if he thought about it for longer than a millisecond.)

S*x makes him feel loved
*** has the same effect on men as romance does on women. So the reverse is also true: no *** = no love, no approval, no acknowledgement. They get that same sad, unloved feeling that you get when you don't get flowers, your partner looks at other women or ignores you.

You are his (secret) reason for living
He needs you because you inspire him to do better – he has someone to do things for, goals to reach, a reason to go out and conquer the world. What's the point of being disgustingly rich and powerful if there's no one to share it with? What he needs is the gift of you.

Interesting Read - Husband Mart

Husband Mart

A store called Husband-Mart, which sells husbands, had just opened where a woman can go to choose a husband from among many men.

Comprising 6 floors, the men were placed such that they increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends each floor. There was, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down, except to exit the building.

So this woman goes to Husband-Mart to look for a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men have jobs.
The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So up she goes.

The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids.
The woman remarks to herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's further up?" And up she goes again.

The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking.
"Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?"

The fourth floor sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking and help with the housework. "Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!" And again she heads up another flight.

The fifth floor sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking,
help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak. "Oh, mercy me! But just think... what must be awaiting me further on?"

So up to the sixth floor she goes.
The sixth floor sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are Visitor No. 3,456,789,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at Husband-Mart and have a nice day.

Orientation at SIM

Went for the orientation for freshies of UOL at Ngee Ann Poly early in the morning. The weather was really hot and I was sweating all the way. I was there quite early and was put into OG2. My group was not too bad lah. There were some super active people, and also some really quiet ones. A fair mix I would say. Knew quite a number of new friends. Played some games that were really stupid but then quite fun for me, since I haven't really have the chance to do this kind of stuff in the Army... haha... Jas found all the games very dumb, probably because she is so used to all these games. Overall, everything is fine and I look forward to starting school.

Oh and I seriously think that there's something wrong with my right side contact lense. I can't see clearly with it. The left one is perfectly fine. Sighz... don't know what's wrong.... gotta bring it back to the optician to check... guess I will do it tomorrow... =P

I got my contact lense!

I got my contact lense today! Yes, from today onwards, I will be wearing contact lense. Was at the spectacle shop just now to learn how to wear and take out the contact lense. It took me about 15mins before I managed to put both the lenses into my eyes. So difficult! But the optician told me that there are people who actually took more than 45 mins during their first attempt. I am still not too bad lah... Still a bit blur now but I guess its a matter of getting used to.

I will be going for my SIM Orientation in a few hours time. Hope it will be fun!

Oh and I am going to cancel my monthly donation to NKF tomorrow. If their top man is so rich that he can fly first class, get 12 months bonus and install a $1100 toilet bowl in his toilet, then I strongly believe that he don't need people like me to donate monthly. I would not want to see my money goes to waste, paying for his golden toilet bowl. So there goes. I am going to stop contributing to NKF monthly and for the future NKF show, even if the artiste jump off the buildings without any safety net, I will also not donate.

What the fuck.... what is this world coming to.... We have taxi driver banging motorbike purposely, we have NKF ppl getting extremely high pay and so many other crazy things... sighz...

Just to update...

Well been quite some time since I last blog so I shall just update a bit. Been damn busy with NDP as usual. Just had the NE Show 1 on saturday. A few glitches here and there but overall the show was alright. Sad thing was the Commando freefaller has a really bad fall. Kinda worried for him when I heard the news. I wasn't there to witness the fall but friends who were within the vincinity said that it was a loud bang. Good to know that he is alright now. God Bless...
I was super tired after the rehearsal and rush back to sleep straight away. Woke up early Sunday morning to go to Sentosa, supposedly with Chin Lee and the usual gang. Chin Lee was the organiser. I got played out!!! Suppose to meet at 10am in the morning. I was at Palawan Beach at about 10.15am and guess what time Chin Lee arrive? He reach the beach at 12pm~!!!
Piangz... He is not the worst though... Lawrence and Edmund reached at 2pm.... *faintz*
Totally no sense of timing... Sighz.... Andrew did not join us cuz of some "woman problem".
We actually intended to get some tann but it started raining at about 1pm. Got no where to hide, so ended up hiding under a small shelter at the children's playground... so pathetic...
Went to Bugis to shop around after that, then went off to meet my poly classmates. Been a freaking long time since I last met up with them. All of them are still managing well and I'm glad they are. Zhixiang is gonna start sch in NTU soon, Desmond got a new and better job as a sales engineer, Gavin became a draftsman, Wong Jiawen is working at Bukit Merah NTUC as a supervisor. Went to this pub call Shin something... not too sure lah. Anyway, we finished a bottle of Chivas and some beer. We even sang Karaoke... quite interesting... never sing in public before... haha... its fun.
Reach home damn late and sleep late again... so tired now...
