Life is fragile...

This is a very sad period for the Dragonboat community in Singapore. The Nation has lost 5 of its best rowers. One of them is a fellow schoolmate from SIM. Though I know nothing about dragonboat and I know nothing about Jeremy Goh... I still felt very sad when I read about the news... Perhaps its because those guys were all about the same age as me.. that's why I can feel how much they've left behind and also the pain of their parents and relatives. There's still a very bright future ahead of them but now, without any warnings, they are gone. My heartfelt condolences goes to the friends and families of the 5 rowers... the 5 passionate rowers who dedicated their lifetime doing the thing they loved most... perhaps the only consolation comes in the knowledge that they died doing the things they loved... Rest in peace dear friends....

I received a SMS from Shao Wei... one of his ex-trainee passed away during a 2.4km run due to heat exhaustion. Another sad news that is hard to accept. It is hard to accept that a routine run can turned out to be a tragedy... Life is fragile and unpredictable... we can hardly know what is going to happen next. Cherish your life and cherish what you have.... for you'll never know when you are going to lost it all...

"Lucky" weekend...

What an exciting weekend. I got into an accident~!!!!
Okie lah relax... no big deal. I'm not injured.... Here's what happen....
I was traveling along the super jammed Serangoon Road on Saturday with Andrew cuz we wanna go to Guan Hoe (Suzuki Agent). The road is full of both cars and people cuz of the upcoming Deepavali I guess. I was riding behind this super irritating Toyota Camry who is going too slowly even when the road starts to clear up with no other cars in front. And even when I try to change lane to over take him, he keep shifting from left to right, preventing me from overtaking... whether he did it on purpose or not I don't know and I don't care...

When I finally got an opening on my left, I accelerated and within a blink of the eyes, I was right in front of him. The unfortunate thing is that I can't open up and clear the road cuz the traffic light right in front of me turned red, so I gotta brake quickly to stop... I managed to stop right in front of the white stop line at the traffic light and the next thing I know.... BANG! That stupid mother fucker Toyota Camry banged into me from behind! I was lucky and did not fall, probably cuz my hand was still on my brakes, thus making the bike more stable at that stationary position. Both of us immediately got down to assess the damage... The driver was a stupid old man.
Driver: Why you brake suddenly!
Me: Red light I don't stop then what you want me to do?
Driver: But you cannot just brake like that mah...
(Na beh, stupid driver wanna teach a biker how to brake?)

By that time, I was busy looking at my bike, trying to find ways to claim until his pants drop.... But surprise surprise... there was no visible damage to my bike... not even a single scratch! Apparently, he banged into my rear tire.... -__-"""
Sianz.... thought can claim a new pair of aftermarket exhaust or maybe a new rim....
Then I look at his car.... Number plate brake into 2 and fell off.... Front bumper dent in, and front bumper a bit out of place.... kaoz.... Car bang bike, end up the car got more damage... -__-"""""
He can say whatever he wants, but ultimately he was the one at fault. Hit me from behind and right in front of a traffic light, simply means he can't stop in time. Stupid Camry, a supposedly better Toyota, with 4 wheels, can't stop in time whereas my 2 wheels bike can. Don't know which school he got his license from... never teach him ebrake.

Driver: So how now? You want to claim or settle privately?
(Seeing that there's nothing to claim...)
Me: No visible damage then settle privately lor.
Driver: Okie we write an agreement stating that you won't claim from me.

And he got busy writing down the car and bike details, place of accident etc, then got me to sign... At that point in time, I am still feeling uncomfortable about the bike and is worried that there might be internal damage... And I am quite reluctant to sign that stupid agreement. So when he was finally done and got me to sign... I signed... but not my name.... I signed "Will Claim" but in a very signature manner... hehehehe... Okie lah, just as an insurance in case I need to claim him for internal repair mah. I am not going to pay for damage caused by a stupid car driver. And before I ride off....

Driver: Next time must ride carefully hor.
Me: -____-"""""""""""""
(Too lazy to argue with him... )

Went to Clifford for a check on the rear wheel just now and luckily all is fine. Nothing breaks. Thank goodness..... =)
