I'm a student....

Haven't had the time to update my blog for a while. Been busy with school and MapleStory... haha... Kinda got addicted to the game already. Childish some might say. But I think its still okie lah. A simple game to help you pass some time. Don't require too much brain, so can relax at the same time too... haha...

School is not too bad. Made a number of friends here and there. Joined the Student Representative Council (SRC) and will be organising a couple of events soon. I'm in charge of the Blood Donation Drive that is going to take place on 25th Oct. So for those pple who wanna earn some good karma, do drop by SIM on 25th Oct to donate your blood. Based on statistic, they'll need more A+ blood donors. So come and donate!

The New Singaporean Dollar Bill

A witty article.... Just for laugh~ =]

Excerpt from the Straight Times, 23 July 2005

The Moneytree Authority of Singapore (MAS) launched a brand new Singapore Dollar bill, which has been named the "Peanut Series". Each peanut series bill is legal tender equivalent to 600,000 Singapore Dollars, henceforth known as 1 Peanut.

The CEOs across the Republic have been quick to applaud the launch of the 1 Peanut bill. In an interview with a Mr. Durai, a CEO of a philanthropic organisation, who wished to remain anonymous, he said, "Now I don't have to carry suitcases of money home. Prior to the issuing of the Peanut, I had to carry a whole suitcase of small change home every month. This is because the people who paid me tend to do so in small amounts, like $5 dollars each time, and it can be very irritating. Now I am just paid 1 Peanut with a single bill, slip it quickly into my wallet and off I go. It's very convenient!"

The reaction by the general public was however cool. Most said that it is unlikely that they will ever use a 1-Peanut bill. With an average national income of S$3000 (0.005 Peanut), the average Singaporean will need about 2 lifetimes to save a Peanut. Said a Mr. Tan, who is a plumber, "The other day, I installed a golden tap in some CEO's bathroom and he paid me using 1 Peanut for the $1000 golden tap. I ask him, where got enough change?"

Watch out for the newest security features on the 1-Peanut note, including a new watermark which replaces the traditional lion head. The new watermark can only be seen under an intense bright light and close scrutiny because of its extreme lack of transparency.

According to an MAS spokesman, the added security features are extremely important given that 1 Peanut can probably buy three 4-room HDB flats, or 10 Nissan Sunnies, the average Singaporean will be very tempted to lay their hands on a Peanut.

NDP is finally over....

After months of preparations, training, Combined Component Rehearsals, Combined Rehearsals, NE Shows, Preview, and more rehearsals.... the National Day Parade finally came.... All the many months of rehearsals was for that 2.5 hours show and finally its over. Now when I look back it time, it really brings back lots of fond memories. Despite some bad encounters while doing the job, overall the experience is still great. Kinda miss all the 4 Bands. They have been the main cause of all my headaches for the past few months. Okie lah, not exactly headaches... In fact, they are the most disciplined group of participants and I am lucky to be handling them. Don't need to shout and scream. They are very, very cooperative. And I am gonna miss all the musics that they always played.

Everything went on fine for the parade and it ended with the Post-Parade Party. And then everything's over. As the padang clears up, the lights dimmed and all that is left are the echoes of the participants and occasional howling of the wind. Its finally over... Am I happy or am I sad.... Hard to say... But one thing for sure... The memories will always stay...

My deepest condolence...

My deepest condolence to my buddy, Kelvin Chua. I know this is a tough period for you and no one can fully feel you grief, sadness and pain. Whatever it is, do take care and if you ever need help, we will all be here for you.

Sighz... Life is so fragile...

Updates~

Its been quite some time since I last updated my blog, so I guess its time I do so.
Start from 29th July, Friday:
Spent the whole day in office packing up my stuffs. As I was doing so, I really feel kinda sad. Really can't bear to leave just like that. 2 years in the Unit and I really feel very attached to it. Been through thicks and thins with all my fellow colleagues and I really miss them all. I suddenly realised that I have a lot of things in camp. Just clearing the stuffs from my table is a chore. There's just so much things. In all, I filled up 2 BIG boxes and 1 duffle bag. As I packed the last piece of item into the box, its seems to symbolise a full-stop to my stint in the Unit. But I guess this is just part and parcel of life. Things change, people come and go..... And I believe its the memories that will stay forever.
To all my bosses, past and present: Thank you for all the guidance that you've given me throughout my tour of duty. Its been great pleasure working under you and its always comforting to know that there are people up there who cares.

To all my peers: Thank you for all the fun you guys have given me. Life will never be the same without you people. All the jokes and laughters will always stay with me in my heart. And not to forget all the tough times we spent together in the jungles, sweating it out. You guys are the best!

To Everyone: I look forward to working with you guys again 3 years later! I will be back....

30th July, Saturday:
As usual, spent the whole day at Padang cuz of NDP. Quite fun as usual. Managed to watch the whole show for the 2nd times cuz there's some empty seats.

31st July, Sunday:
Spent the day twanging with Martin and Jas in town. As usual, got free drinks from Din at Starbucks. And I bought a NEW pencil case... haha...

1st Aug:
1st Day of School! Very fun. So long never see in lecture theatre already. Econs was alright. My maths are really rusty and I think I should start to polish it up... =]
