A Life Lesson....
A carrot, an egg and a cup of coffee.... You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.... She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up.... She was tired of fighting and struggling..... It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose...
Her mother took her to the kitchen.... She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire... Soon the pots came to boil... In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans.... She let them sit and boil, without saying a word....
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.... She fished the carrots out and placed them in a plate.... She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl..... Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup.....
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied....
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots....
She did and noted that they were soft....
The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it... After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.....
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.... The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.
The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity in the boiling water....
And each reacted differently....
The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting... However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak... The egg had been fragile.... Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior,
but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened....
The ground coffee beans were unique... However, after they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water....
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond ? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"
Which am I????
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength????
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat???? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff??? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart????
Or am I like the coffee bean??? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain... When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor... If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you...
When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level???? How do you handle adversity????
Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?????
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy....

Random post...
Went off to pick Jas up from her home. On the way back, I was tailgated by this stupid black Audi who high-beamed me.... kaoz... Its a 2 lane road and I was directly behind a taxi, what does he expect me to do? Fly over the taxi, so that he can go bumper to bumper with the taxi? Are all big cars driver that brainless? The road is jammed for god sake! This went on for quite a while because the road was quite long.... When the road clears up and I'm turing into the expressway, he again tries to overtake me dangerously. That's it. Enough is enough. Full throttle on 176 and he's gone from my side mirror within seconds.... He tried to chase but give up after he realised that he can't out-accelerate me... He must be damn pissed. I would be damn pissed too if I'm in his position... To know that I've spent $200 000 +++ on a car that cannot even catch up with 176... I would be devastated. But that's a fact. You don't need a rocket scientist to do the power-to-weight ratio for you. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can do it. Enough about that Audi... He's insignificant because he can't even come close.
Went to Marina Square to buy some stuff but ended up being stucked at the ECP Rochor Road Exit. Everyone parked their car along the road shoulder to look at the fireworks~! *faintz* The traffic was at standstill. Was trying to move out of the congestion but ended up watching the fireworks too at the bridge... cuz the stupid traffic is not moving at all... -_-"
Lousy day.... sianz.... anyway, Happy Birthday Singapore! 41 years of independence and counting...

Messy...
1. Never do an oil change at night..... freaking shagged....
2. Always make sure I have the proper required tools...
3. Make sure I have lots of time to spare.... so that I won't rush thing through...
4. Last but not least... I think I should just freaking send it to the shop and let them do the job~!
Okie never mind... the key thing is that 176 feels good now . And there's this slight bit of sense of satisfaction when the job is completed.
The next time I gotta do it, I'll make sure Andrew is there to help. =P
Gotta go and sleep already... having a lousy cough since Monday, and need to go for 15KM outcamp run tomorrow... sianz... -_-"

Rini's Wedding / FOC Bash @ DXO
Went on to DXO to party with the Exco and freshies from the FOC. Its nice to see everyone again. I don’t really enjoy clubbing because I think it’s a waste of time and money. Its always the same old procedures. Go to the club, queue up, go in, check out some babes, drink and get wasted, dance dance dance, then catch a cab, waste more money getting home, hangover the next morning…. Nothing new, nothing special. But of course, sometimes it can be fun, especially when there is event like the SIM Bash or the Orientation Bash. That’s when everyone is in the house, everyone knows everyone. That’s when its more fun and meaningful. I enjoyed the party on Saturday night. All of them are a nice bunch to hang out with! Too long never go clubbing already... super tired after that. The end of the Bash also marks the end of the Freshmen Orientation Camp. Wish all the freshies enjoy the rest of their journey in SIM~!
