Tuesday 29 June. As I am always back in camp, its is not possible for me to come back home to update my blog. So I shall just update it in my laptop and transfer it when I am back home.
Guess that make more sense than me trying to squeeze in everything in the weekend. Anyway, kinda free in camp these days. The major events are over. Live firing is done and most of the specialists are gonna disrupt for studies soon.
The men got nothing much to do too. Probably just waiting for ORD. That'll be March next year. Till then there's probably nothing much for them to do. Office is kinda boring. There's nothing much for me to do. Everyday also watch DVD in the office. Its getting kinda quiet too. People are leaving one by one... very soon, I will be the only one from my batch that's left.

Howe ORDed last Sat. Kinda miss him and his crap already. One less person for me to crap with. Soon Edmund will be gone. There goes my main target board. Next on the line will be Wen Jin and Linus. Timmy's gonna be posted out to OCS. I will be the only one left. Bn is holding me back cuz there's work for me to do. Sighz... such sad life... But I guess I just gotta get used to it.

That's a regular life... I stayed on but batches after batches of men will come and go. I can never get too used to any particular group. Cuz before I can get real comfy with them, they will be gone. I feel like I'm living in eternity. Where pple besides me will grow and die. But I'll always be there to watch them come and go. Aiyahz... Don't want to think so much lah. That's the kind of life I chose. An Army life. And that's the way I'll live. I'll just do my job. To train young men. To train the future generation. To train them to be future defenders of the country.

Okie lahz... Don't wanna crap so much. Going to watch CSI before I sleep... haha...

CluBBing NiTeZ

Had a rather eventful day yesterday. Went to Bedok Reservoir early in the morning for the Outcamp run organised by 20SA. Run round the reservoir one round... which is like 4.5 km. Crazy Timmy ask me to go one more round with him. I didn't want to run anymore so he carry on alone... haha... I had enough of running lahz... Don't wanna run so much...

Went to pick darling up at her house but she's still working so I stayed at the carpark to wash my car. Think I should wash my car myself more often. Can save a lot. Spent 40 cents on the water only... hehe...
Had dinner with Chin Lee, Pamela, Victor, Andrew, Audrey, Ian and gf, and Jas at Holland Village area. Chin Lee giving us a treat cuz of his birthday. In turn we bought a birthday cake for him at Haagen Daz.

Next stop, Mohd Sultan. Couldn't decide on where to go so kept walking up and down the street. Finally decided on O Bar. Didn't go to Double O cuz the queue was damn long and we are not too interested in queuing. O Bar was kinda quiet. Not enough ppl to create the atmosphere but enough ppl to occupy all the tables. Drank a bit there. Darling had he first taste of tequila pop. Her whole face went red after that. Vodka + Tequila + Beer... seems to be on her way to being drunk. But she's quite a good drinker... won't get drunk that easily. Got bored of O Bar, so decided to change a place. Went to Angel, just across the street. Suresh's favourite place. Plays all the techno stuff. haha... if O bar was boring, Angel was worse. Got a lot of ppl but then music sux and too many lianz and bengz. Who knows we might just get wacked for nothing if we stayed long enough. Which is why we went to our third and final place, Liquid Room. That's the best amongst the 3 that night. Good music, good crowd. Drinks were expensive though. Darling almost scare the shit out of me at Liquid Room. Had her vodka then hug on to me a knocked out. Guess she really fainted. But its only for a while. Woke up after that and had to vomit. Well, its always good to vomit after drinking. At least you will feel much better after that. Guess Darling would agree with me on this after her experience yesterday.... hehe

Was dead tired while on my way home. Kept falling asleep. I really gotta try ito think of ways to keep me awake while driving. Its really dangerous to doze off while driving....

SlaCK at home the whole of today. Gonna wake up early to go back to camp tomorrow. Gotta start the running routine again... sianz...

Back again....

Finally giving another entry after so long... been really busy with work back in camp... Hardly have the time to come out. Had a pretty tough week... every morning have to wake up at 6 and go for morning run at 7.... run 5 km then carry on with circuit training... piangz.... whole body aching now... my leg cannot take it anymore. Always don't like to run... actually I don't really mind running... its just that those ppl make running such a chore. That's why I hate it now. And worse of all I'm roped in to run the Division Crossy Country COmpetition and also the upcoming Army Half Marathon!!!! I'm dying!!! I need a new pair of legs!!!
Anyway its good to be resting now so I shall not waste my energy on complaining. Went to RELC today to apply for Overseas studies in Australia with Linus and Wenjin. Talk to this lady name Wendy. She gave us some advice on the universities that are suitable for us and also helped us with the application form. The form a bit complicated... Don't know why izzit that these institutions always like to make there application forms complicated. Maybe its a way of showing how sophiscated they are? Don't know lahz... Linus and I both applied for University of Adelaide. Its the cheapest choice for us. I applied for University of South Australia too... Now just got sit back and wait for the outcome.
Actually I don't even know if I could afford to study in Australia or not. The living expenses are really high. And its really expensive too. Really hope that I can get my LSA so that I would just have to top up a bit to cover the rest of the charges. Think I better start applying next week.
Went to Hendon Camp to witness Andy's Red Beret Presentation. After 11 months of tough training, he finally got his Red Beret. Guess he was really proud of himself. Even shed tears when he received it. Think I can understand how he feels. I felt exactly the same way too during my commissioning parade.
Jas's mum treat us to dinner. Went to Chomp Chomp to eat. The food there ain't exactly that superb. Perhaps its just a brand name lahz... They give so little portion and charge so much... Sigh... nvm lah... once a while its still okie I guess.
Feel like a pig now. Gonna sleep liao... Tomorrow still gotta wake up early and go to to Bedok Reservoir for out camp run. RUNNING AGAIN!!! sighz...

A daY aT tHe ROM...

Today is my cousin Steven's big day. He is to be engaged with his gf of many years. Woke up at about 9am in the morning and quickly rush to the toilet to bath. Gonna be late cuz I am suppose to pick darling up before going to ROM. Came out of the toilet and saw sis ironing my shirt for me... waH~... gonna strike 4D liao... first time ah... haha... Not very straight but its the effort that counts lah....

Was at ROM on time but due to the capacity of 20 pax per couple, me and darling were not able to go up to witness the ceremony. So sad~! What a waste... to think I rush all the way down... sigh... nvm... took some photos after the whole thing.. not that bad after all. Went to merchant hotel for lunch on steven. The buffet was great. Ate a LOT of sashimi. hehe.... my favourite. Darling ate a lot of that durian pudding thingy. That's her favourite. I love it too. Eat so much until I nearly can't move.

Don't feel like going anywhere, so went back home to watch CSI with darling... Guess we were both too tired. Fell asleep after watching one episode. Only woke up at 7pm... haha... we are really pig. Had dinner then send her home.

Sixun's dad passed away and I went down to his dad's wake today with the rest of the officers. It was really a great shock for him. I think he didn't expect it to happen at all... Life is so unpredictable...

Car DaY~

Went back to office yesterday to settle some stuff. Tried packing my kit bag and nearly fainted when I opened it.
haha... all the sweaty clothes mix together, packed in the confine of a bag for 3 days... I leave it up to your imagination... There's really nothing to do in the office. We were basically back in camp because we didn't managed to cancel our ration for the day. So we are back just to consume the breakfast, lunch and dinner. The even more stupid thing is that I don't even eat in the cookhouse. So I am pratically stoning in office doing nothing.

Went out with LTA Koh to McWell Venture to do up his car. Apparently something went wrong with the battery during his 3 weeks out of town. He is very heartache now, firstly because his car can't start properly. And secondly, he scratch his whole front rim when he fell asleep while driving home after the boring soccer match the day before. Pity him but there's nothing I can do.

Went to Autobacs after that. Actually wanted to buy some stuff for my car but suddenly remembered that I'm suppose to save money. So gave up the idea. I'm actually looking for a set of new rims to replace my current ones. But its way too expensive and way off budget... guess I gotta save a bit more before buying...

Back in office by about 2pm and started watching the CSI DVD that I borrowed from Andrew. Really interesting. I finished watching one disc by 5pm... which is about 4 episodes. Yah we are free to that extend. Went off to Bukit Batok after 6pm to accompany LTA Koh to buy a new battery for his car. Yup he finally realised that adding adictives to his battery isn't gonna help. I left for Autobacs again but its already closed so I went for a car wash instead. Today is a car day lahz. Everything also about my car... haha...
Suppose to meet Andrew and gang for dinner but all of them are late. Went to Mohd. SUltan to hang out but in the end, changed the venue to Zouk. Andrew played us out. He can't join us cuz he is wearing berms... damn angry with him. He is the one who jio us out and now he wears berms when he should have known that its not an appropriate dress code.

Never mind...had fun in Zouk anyway with CPT Miaw yi and her BF, CPT Alvin Teo, LTA Koh and Victor. Freaking a lot of pple... probably cuz its ladies' night. Saw a lot of transvetite at Zouk too!!! Its really a lot. Wonder if they have to pay the entrance fees like we guys... hahahaha... Sent Victor home as usual. He is already gone case by then. Drank too much I guess... haha...

Reached home at about 3am but got trapped in the lift for an hour. Luckily a friendly neighbour and the security guard come to my rescue. Slept at 5am and woke up at 9.30am again. Quickly rushed my car down to the workshop for servicing. Thought I could get it back in an hour but they told me they needed 5 hours today cuz my car is entitled to a free grooming package... Whatever lah... it just means that I gotta wait around doing nothing till then... So not used to having to travel around in bus and MRT... Though its quite fun, but I still prefer my car....

There's no where I can go so I stayed at darling's house for the whole afternoon, sleeping and then watching CSI again. Went to collect my car at about 4pm plus, then went to Suntec to have dinner at Cafe Cartel. Ate the St Louis Ribs. Its damn big piece. Talk about value for money. The sauce is a bit too sweet though. Nothing is perfect I guess. Sent darling to Singapore Conference Hall to attend a concert. As usual I got nowhere to go, so stayed at the carpark waiting for her to finish. Watched CSI once again... haha... Sent her home after her concert and fell asleep as usual while on my way back home... freaking tired now... must sleep already....

mY tUeSdAy.....

Woke up quite late today cuz I was watching soccer the night before until 3am. Don't really know how to appreciate match cuz I am a soccer idiot. It wouldn't have been that bad if the match was interesting. Wasted my petrol to go down to Mohd Sultan to watch soccer with edmund, chan ming, howe and alvin teo cuz the match ended with a 0-0 draw... piangz.... what the hell is italy doing... nvm... anyway I was sleeping through half the match... Told howe to wake me up when they score... haha

Went out to meet Jas to eat prata at Roti Prata House for lunch. Jas bought a cake from sweet secret for mum and she seems quite happy... haha... Went to town after that to look for a shaver for dad. Father's Day coming mah... Bought a electric shaver at besk denki. Not exactly the best one around but its within budget. Walk around town for a while before heading to east coast.

Sat at the breakwater at east coast with jas for about 2 hours, talking about everything under the sun. Darling is always so cute. She seems to be so easily amazed by things around her. She talked about her childhood stuffs too and we had some good laughs. Went to eat dinner at the hawker centre in east coast and sent her back after that.

Packing my stuff now, preparing to go back to camp. Sianz... But never mind... will be out again tomorrow night... haha...

That's me and my trusty M203 Grenade Launcher.... trying to look garung once again... haha...

Ex Lightning Pegasus 2004 ~ DaY fIvE to sIx...

Finally I am going home soon. But not before we wash up all the guns. Washing the vehicles was a terrible nightmare. We have got only one pathetic water hose to wash 11 armoured vehicles! And to add salt to wound, that pathetic hose has got pathetic pressure! When I saw that washing area I nearly burst out laughing. Actually I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. Its like a joke to ask us to wash all our vehicles using that hose. We went on a search around the damn big camp and grab anything we can use to wash the guns. In the end, we managed to get this BIG water truck to come to our rescue. It has amazing pressure. Those you use for fire fighting. The pressure is so strong that we need 6 ppl to hold on to the hose to control it. With that piece of crap, we are able to complete our task pretty soon.

Went to the canteen after more than 12 hours of washing. Canteen food was great as usual. Howe and Edmund ordered so much food and ate as if there's no tomorrow. 2IC ordered a glass of coconut milk but gotta throw it away after a housefly went diving into his drink. The housefly drowned and the drink got wasted. 2IC was damn upset. Got another glass and this time round he makes sure he holds on to his drink... haha...

Last day was fun. Everyone went on a shopping rampage. Not for me. Cuz there's nothing much to buy. I've already got most of the T-shirts that they are selling. I am not interested in fake LV and the fake branded bags doesn't appeals to me. So there I go, sitting at one corner, eating my ice-cream... haha... the ice cream is good. for the preice of less than $2, you get swensen standard ice-cream... good buy~!

Finally, time for us to leave. Reach Singapore at about 3 am. Went to DFS to buy some beer for dad and a vodka citron for myself. Home sweet home at 5am and sleep and sleep and sleep....

Ex Lightning Pegasus 2004 ~ DaY tHree to fOuR...

Started the Live Firing Exercise early in the morning. As predicted, the journey to the firing area was damn screwed up. Terrain was so bad that a lot of equipment were damaged before we even start the whole damn thing. Our vehicles have to bash through thick vegetation and I suffer most of it. This is because I have to pop my head out of the commander's hatch and got the direct hit from all that branches, thorns and ants. Wei wen was driving freaking fast and I always dun have enough time to hide... full of injuries now.

Live firing was pretty easy. Just the usual stuff we always practice. Just that this time round real ammo are used. Bad things is that all the senior ppl keep comming to my command post to check on me... sian... wanna relax a bit also cannot. There were some hiccups here and there but they were quickly resolved by my boss. They weren't the best solution I must say, but at that kind of condition, we only need one man to make a command decision. The rest will follow. No questions asked. No arguments. No negotiations. If its a bad decision, whoever gives the order have to bear the responsibilities and consequences. That's how things work.

Finished live firing earlier than expected on the 2nd day which means we got more time to do the maintenance and admin stuff... Missing darling a lot but can't find a phone to call here... too pai seh to borrow from ppl cuz its kinda expensive to call overseas... sigh...

Ex Lightning Pegasus 2004 ~ DaY tWo...

Woke up early in the morning at about 5am. Had some light breakfast and headed to the temple. By tradition, all training troops should go up to the temple to pray prior to their exercise, so that they would have a safe training exercise. Usually the commanders would go and represent the whole units. The temple us situated on top of a mountain which is directly behind KMC. And when I say its a mountain, its really a mountain. Bukit Timah Hill is nothing compared to it. There is only one way to the temple. And that's the very very very steep staircase that brings you from the foot of the mountain to the very top! We are suppose to climb up the steps, one at a time, without skipping any steps. This is a way of showing our sincerity. By the time we got up to the temple, all of us were out of breathe, legs cramped and unable to stand straight. But for the safety of our troops, I guess its worth it. I prayed for my troops to have a safe journey and that everyone will go home safely. I also prayed a little bit extra. I prayed for my little darling to be safe in Singapore too.... haha.. Typical Singaporean... climb so high already, so must make as much request as I can.... haha...

After the temple trip, we went to do a recce at the training area. Nearly fainted when I saw the kind of terrain that we need to travel through. Its gonna be one hell of a nightmare...

Had a quick lunch and then went to prepare my vehicle for the exercise. Help the guys load the ammo into the guns and by nightfall, we were good to go. Went to take a quick shower at the ever smelly bathing area. Must enjoy a bit before going outfield mah... haha... the bathing area is really disgusting. Its just one BIG rectangular concrete container filled with water that looks very green cuz of the thick layers of algae in it. We just use some scoop to scoop the water up and bath. VERY DISGUSTING SIGHT. But then again. No choice. Bath or suffer the discomfort.... haha...

Went back to sleep asap after that. Must catch as much sleep as I can before the exercise, cuz I would definitely not get to sleep when I am out there in the field... Praying for good weather before I doze off...
